Quinta da Côrte is one of the Douro Valley’s smaller wine estates & one which combines homey Portuguese tradition with contemporary design. Originally built in the 17th century, the vineyard farmhouse has been renovated in collaboration with French architect & interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch - whose signature designs exude warmth, texture & colour - celebrating organic forms, refined yet bold finishings & high-quality, natural materials.
A playful eclecticism expertly integrates the regional aesthetic while also highlighting the many luxury amenities that this 5-star hotel exudes, one that is a stone’s throw from some of the best wineries in the country. Bespoke faience tiles cover walls & an original open fireplace, while collections of art & ceramics compliment custom furniture & lighting. With a longstanding passion for set design & story-telling, Yovanovitch has created the perfect stage for quiet escapes to one of the most beautiful places in Portugal.

Designed by The 200-year-old estate is owned by French art collector & winemaker Philippe Austruy & had fallen into disrepair before he bought it. He brought it back from the ashes with French interior architect-of-the-moment, Pierre Yovanovitch.

The Neighbourhood: The property is nestled on the UNESCO world heritage site of the Douro Valley. Prepare to approach down a steep & winding path. In the vicinity are many of the region’s finest & most interesting wineries & eateries to indulge in after getting lost wandering the vines that have grown here for thousands of years.

Quinta da Côrte is located just outside of the village of Tabuaço on the banks of the Douro River. Fly to Porto and rent a car for a little road trip and some freedom while you’re there.
