Located between the sea & the sandy pine forests of Comporta & the colloquial yet creatively charged village of Melides, Villa Elias is a place of varying dimensions, crafted with a relaxed & sustainable vision. Designed in partnership with a local architect who has had a hand in renovating some of the most beautiful traditional houses in the area, five bedrooms are decorated with artisanal & design-led finds, from terracotta & beechwood fittings to furniture by Ferm Living. Perfect for families, there is also an additional bedroom for the children & a playroom.
Outside a soothing swimming pool decorates a Meditteranean garden complete with yoga shala & the scent of pine & eucalyptus at the end of a long, hot summer day. Owner, Priscilla, invites friends & guests to rent the house out exclusively, to spend days by the pool preparing lunch over casual conversations, pouring wine into a glass, before padding out into the sandy gardens to watch the orange sunset through the forest beyond.

Sleeps: Twelve guests in five bedrooms & four bathrooms as well as a room for eight children or friends seeking the ‘sleepover experience’.

Services: Self-catered with access to a private chef if requested. There is also a yoga shala for guests to use & yoga lessons are available if you’re seeking extra slowness & calm.

Villa Elias is located outside of the village of Melides, around an hour & a half drive from Lisbon. Fly to Lisbon & rent a vintage jeep to fit in with the locals, taking a road trip while finding some freedom while you’re there.
