Casa Luum, a house in the central Algarvian countryside that defines itself through strong lines, white walls & vernacular architecture, was designed by Pedro Domingos & built on the site of a former ruin. Rendered cubist volumes feature pared-back interiors encompassing local materials & craft led accents while outside, one of the most photographed terraces & swimming pools in Portugal invites guests to live their own design-led dream if only for a week or so.
The minimalist bolthole encourages lazy mornings spent listening to the soundscapes of the rural surroundings, you may encounter the local shepherd grazing his flock or the village beekeeper trundling by to tend his hives.

Price: Suites start from 1590€ per night in low season & 4490€ per night in high season.
Highlights: The modern, cubist nature of the house will romance any aesthetically driven guest. We also love the location of the property, at the end of a rural dirt road.

The Neighbourhood: Loulé, the nearby market town is a stone’s throw away, known for an abundant farmers market filled with local produce & a buzzy atmosphere on the weekends. Casa Luum, however, is for those looking to retreat into quiet solace, stepping out on four wheels towards the sea when the moment takes your fancy.
Things to know: Casa Luum, while private through it’s clever design, is attached to the neighbouring property by the same owners, Casa Agostos. You can rent both together or separately.

Casa Luum is located up in the central Algarvian barrocal, just underneath Loulé around a twenty-minute drive from Faro. Fly to Faro & rent a little car to take a road trip while finding some freedom while you’re there.
